All I did was just extract the models from Mass Effect's PC assets, bring them into 3ds Max, throw their textures on them, and then I moved them around to pose them.

(The models and all of their assets belong to BioWare.)

That's why I always figured they smile by COVERING their teeth, not baring them the way humans do. (Other species on Earth bare their teeth as a sign of aggression, too—if you see a chimp grinning at you with its lips parted, RUN AWAY.
